And it's hosted by Crazy For Books.
I've decided to start hopping this as well. :)
"What Book-To-Movie Adaptation Have You Most Liked? Which Have You Dislike?"
Hmm, I really didn't like the movie adaptation of The Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman (The Golden Compass). It just didn't feel right. And they changed it all. If you didn't compare it to the book, it was great, but since I'd read them, it was just... wrong.
Also, the Eragon movie totally didn't stick to the book. It really annoyed me.
I loved the movie adaptations of Lord of the Rings, even if it was insanely long. And the Harry Potters are always done well. I love the Narnia films as well. (:
Now, this is my first Blogger Hop. I've seen them everywhere, and therefore I felt left out. So, I've joined in the hopping! (:
Have a great weekend - again! ;)
I liked the Eragon film, I thought it was done fairly well. I know they missed a lot out, but they got the important stuff right.
ReplyDeleteEvery time we watch it my partner rants about how baby Saphira looks like an otter though :|
Welcome to the hop!
I love the Harry Potters too, I like how unlike a lot of book-movie adaptations they actually stick to the plot.
ReplyDeleteNarnia is epic! I love love loved the seamonster in the last one! Lord of the Rings is pretty good too. My dad occasionally whips it out on a Saturday afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to see Eragon. I think I enjoyed the book way too much to like the movie.

I've never seen The Golden Compass movie. I loved the His Dark Materials series. I heard there wouldn't be any more movies because the first one did so poorly. Maybe someone will do a reboot one day.
ReplyDeleteI lovelove the Lord of the Rings. They're long but I never got bored.
ReplyDeleteUgh Eragon was a huge pet peeve for me. I was pretty much griping the whole movie lol
Yay for joining the hop; it's a fun way to meet people and find blogs :]
I liked the golden Compass on film - I liked the steampunk elements, although I do think that Nicole Kidman wasn't the best person for the role... Maybe it helped that it had been quite a few years since I had read the book, and I'd probably forgotten a lot of the detail.
ReplyDeleteLord of the Rings films are great, especially considering how much they had to squeeze in!
Enjoy the hop!
I totally agree with you on LOTR and HP. I haven't seen or read The Golden Compass or Eragon, but a lot of people have answered that they didn't like Eragon. Hm, guess I'll have to read and watch it so I can see what everyone's talking about :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to have found you via the Hop!
Truthfully, saying LotR is the best adaptation is a cop-out. EVERYONE knows it's awesome. Even Return of the King, which I thought was the worst translated of the three books, and it won an Academy Award.
ReplyDeleteI will go with New Moon and Eclipse, they're both VERY similar to the books, love them or hate them. BUT I think one of the best translations is the television show The Vampire Diaries, they managed to actually make the story way BETTER then the book. That almost never happens.
