Top Ten Tuesday (#2)

Hello, lovely followers! I've decided to join in with all the fun of Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by the awesome The Broke and the Bookish. It just looks like so much fun! :D
Anyways, this is this week's topic: Intimidating Books!  Ooh!  In no particular order (because I just can't be bothered to order them...) here are my...

Top Ten Most Intimidating Books

Les Misérables by Victor Hugo
In the orginal French.  Over nine hundred and sixty pages.  In French.   French.  I'm going to read it for my French course, in theory...  I mean, I'm good.  But I'm not sure I'm quite that good yet...  I'll stick to my nice Les Nuits des Enfants Rois and Jules Verne and whatnot.  They aren't quite as long...
Divergent by Veronica Roth
I know - I suck.  I haven't read this yet.  And that's useless.  But I'm so scared that I'll read it and... will be disappointed.  Because my expectations are so freaking high that I can barely see them...
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
I have read this book.  And I love it.  Love it.  But I was terrified to read it.  Seriously terrified.  Partly because I was so excited and had such high expectations.  And partly because the other 'cancer' book I'd read was Before I Die, one of my favourite books ever and a book I love almost more than life itself.  But John Green, as expected, more than exceeded my expectations.  Don't believe me?  Check out my rambly review. :D

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
Again, same reasons as TFIOS.  And also I saw the movie.  Made me cry so much I couldn't see.  Literally broke me.  And then my mum and aunt ruined the book ending (which is different from the movie ending).  And now I'm just so scared because I know that it's going to break me even more because emotions in books are always a million times worse!
Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Jennifer is my goddess.  Like, literally.  I worship her.  She is brilliant.  And her Lux series is literally my favourite series in the history of ever.  And so while I am absolutely freaking desperate to read Covenant, I am also absolutely freaking terrified that I won't love it as much.  Or, perhaps even worse, that I'll love it more and Daemon won't be my favourite book boyfriend...
My mind is weird.
Alex Cross Series by James Patterson
I read a couple of this series when I was like ten or eleven.  The first was ok.  The second... biggest damn mistake of my life!  And now, even though that was some years ago now, I'm still scared to read his adult books.

Requiem by Lauren Oliver
I freaking love this series.  But I'm terrified.  I don't want the series to end.  And I'm terrified about the ending.  And I hear some bad things about said ending...  Mmmm....  :(
House of Night Series by P.C. and Kristin Cast
Don't get me wrong: I love this series.  Like seriously, love it  to bits.  But... I don't know.  I'm scared that with so many books, it's going to end not being as good as it was when it started.... Did that make sense?  The same goes for Patterson's Maximum Ride.  The first few were great.  But then reviews seem to suggest it goes downhill....  I'm a bit scared to carry on reading, that I won't love the two series as much if I do.
Perfect Chemistry by Simone Ekeles
I know.  I suck.  But now I'm so scared!  Everyone tells me it's awesome.  And I'm scared, ok!  I'm scared because contemp isn't my very fave genre and I'm scared I'll let everyone down!
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
Do I even need to explain?

And that's my Top Ten.  Let me know yours in the comments! :D
