In My Mailbox (#12)

In My Mailbox was created by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a perfect way to see who's reading and review what.  Awesome!

Late again: I've been having one or two computer troubles!  Silly laptops.  ;)

Anyway, here's what was in my Mailbox this week:

For Review:

THE BOY WHO LOVED BACH

She Smells the Dead (Spirit Guide, Book One) by E.J. Sevens (Goodreads | Amazon)
Spirit Storm (Spirit Guide, Book Two) by E.J. Stevens (Goodreads | Amazon)
These are the first two in the Spirit Guide series, and were sent to me by the author.  They look amazing: about a girl with a "psychic awareness of ghostly spirits".  In other words, She Smells the Dead.  I love the sound of it, and can't wait to read the two books!  Thank you E.J.!  :)  Plus, the covers are gorgeous, not that I'm judging by covers, of course.
The Boy Who Loved Bach by Tom Peters (Goodreads | Amazon)
I saw this a review of this on Tessa (From the Bookshelf of T.B.)'s Blog, and commented, saying it looked amazing.  Next thing I know, Tom Peters is emailing me, asking if I'd like to review it!  I was over the moon, because, seriously, this book looks incredible.  Can't wait to read it!  And another beautiful cover!

Bought:

Vampire Diaries 7: The Return: Midnight (Vampire Diaries the Return)The General (Cherub #10)The Doomsday Code (TimeRiders, #3)

Midnight (Vampire Diaries, The Return, Book Seven) by L.J. Smith (Goodreads | Amazon)
Ok, admittedly still haven't gotten this far.  But it's best to be prepared...  isn't it?
The General (Cherub, Book Ten) by Robert Muchamore (Goodreads | Amazon)
"Punchy, exciting, glamorous and, what's more, you'll completely wish it was true."  Sunday Express
Ok, so normally I don't put review-quotes from front pages, but this one is one-hundred-percent true.  I really wish it was all true, everytime I read a Cherub book.  Yup, in between wishing I was a vampire, werewolf or faerie I wish I'm a spy.  I'm just that mad. ;)
The Doomsday Code (Time Riders, Book Three) by Alex Scarrow (Goodreads | Amazon)
Mess Around With Time And The World You Know...
Could Become A World You Don't.
I've started the first in this series, but had to put it aside when I got my review books.  It was amazing, though, so when I saw it on offer, I had to buy it.  And, I have to admit, the cover is really quite cool.  (:

Borrowed From a Friend:

Omega Place

Omega Place by Graham Marks (Goodreads | Amazon)
Going Underground...
A conspiracy theory, with a Big Brother twist.  I've been meaning to read it, so left my friend's house with it.  As you do.  Or, as I do.  ;)

Bought On My Kindle:

Immortal

Angels Watch (The Blue House Trilogy, Book One) by Amanda May Bell (Goodreads | Amazon)
Looks amazing, and I've seen some really positive reviews of it.  Plus, it was only 70p, which helped.
Immortal by Lauren Burd (Goodreads | Amazon)
I liked the look of this one, and for 49p how could I say no?  (:

Well, that's what popped up In My Mailbox this week!

In My Mailbox (#11)

In My Mailbox was created by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a perfect way to see who's reading and review what.  Awesome!

So, this, too, is late late late!  I'm being terrible about time keeping at the moment!  But, anyway, here's my late In My Mailbox...
For Review:
After Eden (Fallen Angels, Book 1)
After Eden (Fallen Angels, Book One) by Katherine Pine (Goodreads | Amazon)
This was sent to me by the author, Katherine Pine - thank you Katherine! - and it looks amazing!  It's a YA paranormal romance, about angels, demons and angel-abductions!  I just need to download it onto my Kindle, and then, I'm a-reading!  Katherine Pine has also given me the go-ahead for putting a coupon on my review of the book, so you can get it for free for a week, if you want!  So, look out for that!  (:

Bought:
BloodRansom.jpg Remember Me (Remember Me: AND The Return Part I)Midnight Alley (Morganville Vampires, #3)
Secret Lives (Darke Academy, #1)

Blood Ransom (Blood Ties, Book Two) by Sophie McKenzie (Goodreads | Amazon)
I loved, loved, loved Blood Ties: it's one of my favourite books!  The ending made me want more, so I am so, so glad that this one is out now!  Of course, I just had to buy it!  I can't wait to read it!
Remember Me (Volume One) by Christopher Pike (Goodreads | Amazon)
Don't Be Afraid... Be Terrified.
I've read a few of Pike's Last Vampire series, and loved them.  So, now when I saw this on Buy-One-Get-One-Free, I, of course, thought I should get it.  Yeah... Did I mention yet that I'm a Compulsive Book Buyer?
Midnight Alley (Morganville Vampire, Book Three) by Rachel Caine (Goodreads | Amazon)
Um, this was the Free one...  I figured, since I have the first two, it would make sense to buy it while I could, so I would be ready...  Yeah, CBB...

Infinite Days (Vampire Queen, Book One) by Rebecca Maizel (Goodreads | Amazon)
After Centuries Of Torment And Pain She Has One Chance To Live And Love Again
There have been split reviews over this one, but I think it looks amazing.  And I love the little slogan-thing.  :)
Secret Lives (Darke Academy, Book One) by Gabriella Poole (Goodreads | Amazon)
"You'll Be Dying To Join The Chosen Few"
As soon as I saw it, I was like, 'What Chosen Few?!'  It was also on a list I saw, that I can't remember right now... But it looks good!

Borrowed From a Friend:
The Strange Power, The Possessed, The Passion (Dark Visions, #1-3)Out of Sight, Out of Mind (Gifted, #1)

Dark Visions, Bind-Up (The Strange Power, The Possessed, The Passion) by L. J. Smith (Goodreads | Amazon)
Not All Vampires Are Out For Blood...
Ah, been meaning to buy this one, but this way, I save money!  And get to read it!  Win-win!  ^.^
Out of Sight, Out of Mind (Gifted, Book One) by Marilyn Kaye (Goodreads | Amazon)
One Morning Amanda Looked In The Mirror And Another Girl Looked Back...
I was planning on getting this on my kindle, but couldn't find it, so I settled with borrowing it from my friend.  Again, saving on money.  :)
Of course, after, I found it on the Kindle store, but ah well.

Bought On My Kindle:
Origins (The Vampire Diaries: Stefan's Diaries, #1)
Origins (The Vampire Diaries: Stefan's Diaries, Volume One) by L. J. Smith, Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec (Goodreads | Amazon)
It was £2 or something, and I just felt like getting it.  Gotta love The Vamire Diaries!

Well, that's my Mailbox this week!  I've been picking up books everywhere, by the looks of it!  Should probably stop doing that...

In My Mailbox (#7)

In My Mailbox was created by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a perfect way to see who's reading and review what.  Awesome!
My Mailbox is late again!  But I have a reason: I wanted to read.  ;)

And I finally got some books from my Wishlist and Waiting List!  I'm so excited!
So, In My Mailbox this week there is...

Bought:

DarkestMercy.jpg
Across the Universe (Across the Universe, Book One) by Beth Revis (Goodreads | Amazon)
They're So Close, But Still So Far Away...
I started this one the minute I got it, and have already nearly finished it: the opening is the most powerful, scary and gripping I've read for a long time.  It's so addictive, and I'm lovin' the short, short chapters!  It was on my Waiting list, too, so I'm thrilled that I have it now!  My review should be up tomorrow!  This cover is gorgeous, but I think I prefer the hardcover version...

Across the Universe (Across the Universe, #1)
The Glass Collector by Anna Perera (Goodreads | Amazon)
With Hope, Anything Is Possible...
I love the look of this book; it looks beautiful.  I read and loved one of Anna Perera's other books: Guantanamo Boy, so I'm really looking forwards to this one.  My only fault with it is the dayglow green along the outside of the pages.  And I mean bright, bright, bright green!  Other than that: amazing!
Immortal Beloved (Immortal Beloved, Book One) by Cate Tiernan (Goodreads | Amazon)
Discover The Secret To Everlasting Life
This looks brilliant.  I read a few sentences, and I'm sure it's going to be good.  Besides, read and loved Tiernan's Sweep/Wicca series, so I'm looking forwards to it.  Plus, on my wishlist! And is it just me, or is that cover something to fall in love with?
Trash by Andy Mulligan (Goodreads | Amazon)
You Never Know What You'll Find...
This one looks amazing as well.  About a boy called Raphael who has spent his life in trash, sifting, sorting, searching, sleeping.  Then he finds a bag that changes everything, and he and his friends are on the run.  "It's three street boys against the world..."  Amazing or what?
Radiant Shadows (Wicked Lovely, Book Four) by Melissa Marr (Goodreads | Amazon)
I'll admit, this series has disappointed me once or twice, but I love the world.  So I keep going back.  Faerie Romance land is my guilty pleasure! ;)
Darkest Mercy (Wicked Lovely, Book Five) by Melissa Marr (Goodreads | Amazon)
Enter A World Of Faerie Romance
The Final Wicked Lovely Book
And I got this one in a set with Radiant Shadows for only £7! Result!

In My Mailbox (#8)

In My Mailbox was created by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a perfect way to see who's reading and review what.  Awesome!
How come my Mailbox always seems to be late?  Weell, it was Mother's Day... so I was a little busy... But still.  It's getting to be an annoying habit now.  ;)
Anyways, I went to the library to drop some books back, and, once again, there was another sale!  Apparently they're trying to get back a little money, and I'm sure I must be the one giving them it all!  So, this is what I got:
Bought From the Library:
The Peace WeaversStainedMossflower (Redwall, #2)
Peave Weavers by Julia Jarman (Goodreads | Amazon)
Looks really good, if slightly unusual.  Looking forwards to it!  And you can't see from this picture, but the title's shiny.  :)
Stained by Jennifer Richard Jacobson (Goodreads | Amazon)
This one looks really good, but I'm not sure what it's going to be like...  I'll just have to wait and read it!
Strange Angels (Strange Angels, Book One) by Lili St. Crow (Goodreads | Amazon)
Dru Anderson
Night Hunter.  Knife Thrower.  Heart Breaker.
So so so so so pleased I found this!  And for 25p?  Even better!  Can't wait to get stuck into it now!  It's been on My Wishlist forever! :D
Mossflower (A Tale of Redwall, Book Three) by Brian Jacques (Goodreads | Amazon)
I'm probably far too old for talking animals, etc, but I still love 'em!  It's why I read Terry Pratchett, and now Brian Jacques!   ;)
Bought On My Kindle:
BeastlySam I Am Hush Money (Talent Chronicles #1)
CamilleThe Dresskeeper
Beastly by Alex Flinn (Goodreads | Amazon)
Ever Wonder What It Was Like For The Beast?
Yes!  And I can't wait to find out!  And I also can't wait to see the movie!  Am I using too many '!'s?  ;)
Sam I Am (October Trilogy, Book One) by Heather Killough-Walden (Goodreads | Amazon)
It looks very good, but a little weird, and there are real mixed reviews, but it was less than a pound, so I thought: why not?
Hush Money (Talent Chronicles, Book One) by Susan Bischoff (Goodreads | Amazon)
Really looking forwards to this one too: it looks really quite good!  And less than a pound again.  I'm happy with that! (:
Camille by Tess Oliver (Goodreads | Amazon)
I'm looking forwards to this: it's a historical-slash-paranormal novel!  How cool?  Set in historical times with werewolves?  I'm there!  And, again, less than a pound!  My Kindle is really paying off!  ;)
The Dresskeeper by Mary Naylus (Goodreads | Amazon)
Playing Dressups Was Never More Dangerous
Time travel?  Dressup?  Sounds awesomely different and new!  Can it get any better for 70p? :D

The BrandingA Woman of No ImportanceAmy FosterWhen Darkness Falls
The Branding by Micaela Wendell (Goodreads | Amazon)
A Hideous Curse.  An Epic Quest.
Will Beauty Become The Beast?
Well, it was free, the cover's cute and it sounds Lords of the Rings-esque, a series I love.  Pretty good in my books!  :)  Unfortunately, not free anymore, though. :(
A Woman of No Importance by Oscar Wilde (Goodreads | Amazon)
A short story, but one worth reading.  Or so I've heard... (:
Amy Foster by Joseph Conrad (Goodreads | Amazon)
Another short story, but looks good.
When Darkness Falls: Free eBook Parts 1,2&3 by James Grippando (Goodreads | Amazon)
Looks like a cool thriller.  Plus: free!  ;)
So, that's what was in my very late Mailbox.

In My Mailbox was created by Kristi at The Story Siren.  It's a perfect way to see who's reading and review what.  Awesome!

The books I ordered have arrived!  Very, very pleased with them.  I also got asked to read another book, which looks really cool.  And I had a free-books-shopping-spree on Amazon, for my kindle.  So, here's my Mailbox!

For Review:

Friendship: Launch Day

Friendship: Launch Day by Susan J MacDonald (Goodreads | Amazon)
Spend the day with Adventure Girl Kat Auton.
History is being made today with the launch of the Friendship, the most advanced ship ever seen in human space. It will be crewed by chethari, quarians and humans from across the League and Allianzi, and will soon be heading out on its first missions. Kat, the youngest member of the Friendship's media team, is reporting on the build up to the big event; front stage, back stage, all the atmosphere as it happens.
But it is going to be a much bigger day than even Kat is expecting.
This looks really different, but really good.  I was asked by Susan MacDonald to read and review it.  I said 'yes' because I'm into my Sci-Fi at the moment.  Thanks Susan! :)
