Book Blogger Hop (#3)

In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and share their love of the written word!  This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books!  It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs to read!  So, grab the logo, post about the Hop on your blog, and start HOPPING through the list of blogs that are posted in the Linky list below!!
And it's hosted by Crazy For Books.
I've decided to start hopping this as well.  :)

This week's question comes from Sue @ Cookie's Book Club

"What keeps you reading beyond the first few pages of a book, and what makes you want to stop reading a book and put it back on the shelf?"

I honestly do not remember the last time I put down a book without finishing it.  I'm one of those optimistic readers.  You know the type: "Oh, I'm sure the pace will pick up/the romance will become believable/the heroine will suddenly become strong, instead of this damsel in distress".  And I've discovered some amazing books that way.  When friends put books down saying, "God, that's so boring" I pick them up, read them, and find the best action at the end.  Then you read the next in the series: even better.  Being optimistic pays off in books.
So, I read on, but what makes me not want to put the book down at all is characters I can believe in.  I want real connections, down-to-earth characters, and brilliantly created worlds.  I want humour, I want horror, I want suspense.
Not much, huh?

Well that's me!  If you've found me through the hop, leave me a link!  If not, why not answer the question yourself?

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hopping through. Like you, I don't put down books easily. So often bad beginnings can become great books.
