Follow Friday (#5)

Follow Friday is a fun way for bloggers to find new blogger friends!  It's hosted by Rachel at Parajunkee's View, and it's such an awesome idea!

And the Feature blog this week is:

And the question this week is...

"Do You Judge A Book By It's Cover?"

Normally, no.  But I do occasionally.  I don't like labels, so I try to ignore covers, go by blurbs, first few pages or recommendations.  Ocassionally, though, I do buy books for covers.  Some are brilliant, some not so much.  And some books with horrible covers turn out to be amazing.
For example:
Delirium by Lauren Oliver has a beautiful cover, and was a 5* book (in my opinion).
Whereas, while Halo by Alexandra Adornetto had the most gorgeous cover ever, it was only a 3¾* one (once again, in my opinion).

So yes, I do.  But I try really hard not to.

So, that's my answer.

If you've found me through FF, thanks for stopping by my blog!  If you leave a link, I'll follow you back!

And, if you're not taking part:

What about you?  Do you judge a book by it's cover?

Have a great weekend!

Yup! can`t always count on the covers! Even thought it is very easy to get swept into buying a book based on the cover!
New follower (:

Here`s my FF: http://studdedkissya.blogspot.com/2011/04/follow-friday-3.html

Old follower! Same here, I judge, but it's not the only thing I consider about a book.

Bravo to you for trying hard to keep cover art out of the equation. And you weren't the only one suckered in by the Halo cover. I keep picking it up then remember that no one I trust liked it, so I put it back, but it's just so darn pretty!

I can't help but pick up books with pretty covers, but the description has to sell me! I'm a new follower. My FF is at Coffee Table Reviews

I tend to judge them by covers. At least by first glance. Cover & title is what gets my attention and interest in the first place. But then I go after the story! I'd never buy a nice cover with a storyline I don't think I'd like.

Nice blog you have! I'm following. :)

My FF can be found here!

Hi! I'm Izzy, and I'm just stopping by on the FF train! I've had similar experiences as you, where the cover is as beautiful as the story, and then sometimes when not so much.

Romona: Ah, yes, it most certainly is! I often pick up books just 'cause the look pretty! If they don't sound good though, I put 'em back down! Thanks for the follow!
Tiger: Hiya again! I don't like judging! How've you been? :)
Lesley: Thank you, I'm glad you like it! Yeah, the book was a bit of a let down after the cover.
Megan: Thanks! Yeah, I liked it, but I prefered the cover... the cover's gorgeous... ;)
Aimee: Pretty covers draw you in, don't they? (: Thanks for the follow!
Bex: I make snap judgements too! Even though I try not to. Thank you!
Izzy: Good to see I'm not the only one to make a judgement by the cover! I always feel bad when I do that. :)
Howard Sherman: Totally agree with you! Covers are attention getters, first few paragraphs seal the deal!

Thanks for all your comments!

And I absolutely judge a book by its cover! If I like the cover, I pick it up. It's as simple as that.
