Fortnight of Guests: The YA Book Nook (2011 Series)

Hello everyone! My name is Lexi from The YA Book Nook where I review primarily young adult fiction, with the occasional adult book that I may pick up at the library.

Thanks so much to Megan, who asked me to be a guest for the Fortnight of Guests! I'm so honored!
Today I'm going to be talking about the many series that came out in 2010 or series that aren't coming out until 2012! Some of these books have already been released, while some of the others we are all waiting anxiously for!

Darkness Risingby Kelley Armstrong
The Gathering (Darkness Rising, #1) The Calling (Darkness Rising, #2)
Books In The Series: The Gathering (April 12th, 2011) & The Calling (April 2012)
Why You Should Read This Series: If you've read Kelley Armstrong's other YA series, Darkest Powers, you will love this series. If you love paranormal romance you will love this series. If you love werewolves you will love this series. If you love strong heroines you will love this series.

Delirium
by Lauren Oliver
Delirium (Delirium, #1) NO COVER YET
Books In The Series: Delirium (February 1st, 2011) & Pandemonium (March 6th, 2012)
Why You Should Read This Series: Lauren Oliver has a way with words, there's no doubt about that. Her writing in this novel is so extraordinary! But imagine a world where love was a disease and your mom was locked up because she had it? Prepare a box of tissue when you get to the last five pages. I was stunned at how emotional this was.

Raised by Wolves
by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Raised by Wolves (Raised by Wolves, #1) Trial by Fire (Raised by Wolves, #2)
Books In The Series: Raised by Wolves (June 8th, 2010) & Trial by Fire (June 14th, 2011)
Why You Should Read This Series: I have only read the first one, and I read it a few days ago. I fell in love with it right away! Bryn is such an amazing main character. She's a human that lives with werewolves and then she has a strong compelled feeling for a captive werewolf named Chase. What's not to love? There's forbidden romance, kick-ass heroine (literally! She kicks butt a couple of times!), plenty of humor and sarcasm and some great minor characters (her metrosexual werewolf friend, Devon; her best girl/were friend, Lake, who's gun obsessed, and Callum, her over-protective father figure, who's the alpha)

Anna Dressed in Blood
by Kendare Blake
Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna Dressed in Blood, #1)
Books In the Series: Anna Dressed in Blood (August 30th, 2011)
Why You Should Read This Series: I have yet to read this one, but I've seen soo many great reviews on it already, from bloggers that got this as an ARC. It reminds me a bit of Graveminder by Melissa Marr, but I personally don't like her writing so I couldn't get into it very much. But I'm hoping this will be amazing! I'm so eager to learn more about the ghost called 'Anna Dressed in Blood' and why the main character gets to live while every other person that steps on Anna's property is killed... aren't you intrigued? :)

So I know I didn't get to cover all of my favorite series so far in 2010/2011/2012, so here's a small list of some more!
Some Other Great Series: Unearthly by Cynthia Hand (angels and romance!), Angelfire by Courtney Alison Moulton (kick-butt heroine that fights demon reapers!), Wither by Lauren DeStefano (polygamy marriage for teen girls), Heist Society by Ally Carter (cat burglar named Kat!) & Nightshade by Andrea Cremer (female alpha wolf with a love triangle)

So there you have it! Some new great series you can check out if you haven't already!

Cool, thanks Lexi!  There are definately a few here I didn't know about: and I love all the covers!

Delirium was a great read, but what really stuck with me was the ending because it was written so powerfully! Lauren Oliver really has a way with words :)

I haven't read most of these books here, so I definitely want to try them out! Some of them sound really good, and I've read really good reviews for most of these. Oh, I just bought Delirium, so I'll start reading that one soon! Great guest post Lexi!
