Waiting On Wednesday (#18)

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, and it's a weekly meme all about the books that are coming out soon that we really can't wait to read.

I've gone for the distant books that I know lots of us are waiting anxiously for!

After Obsession
After Obsession
By: Carrie Jones and Steven E. Wedel
Published: 5th September 2011
Published By: Bloomsbury Publishing PLC
Found: On Amazon

Synopsis From Goodreads:
Aimee and Alan have unusual pasts and secrets they prefer to keep hidden. Aimee's deceased mother struggled with mental illness and hallucinations, and Aimee thinks it could be hereditary. After all, she sees a shadowy river man where there isn't one. And then there was that time she and her best friend Courtney tried to conjure a spirit with a Ouija board ...Alan is Courtney's cousin. His family moved to Maine when Courtney's father went missing. It's not just Alan's dark good looks that make him attractive. He is also totally in touch with a kind of spiritual mysticism from his Native American heritage. And it's not long before Aimee has broken up with her boyfriend ...But it's not Aimee or Alan who is truly haunted - it's Courtney. In a desperate plea to find her father, Courtney invites a demonic presence into her life. Together, Aimee and Alan must exorcise the ghost, before it devours Courtney - and everything around her.
Sooo can't wait for this!  It just sounds like one of the most amazing ghost stories!  And after the brilliant Haunting Violet, I am really desperate for more incredible ghost stories!  And isn't the cover just beautiful?

The PledgeThe Pledge

Published: 15th November 2011
Published By: Margret K. McElderry Books
Found: On Jenny (Supernatural Snark)'s Blog

Synopsis From Goodreads:
Words are the most dangerous weapon of all...

In the violent country of Ludania, the classes are strictly divided by the language they speak. The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she’s spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It's there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she's never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed.
Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can’t be sure where his real loyalties lie. As the emergency drills give way to real crisis and the violence escalates, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key to something much bigger: her country’s only chance for freedom from the terrible power of a deadly regime.
I want this insanely badly.  Ever since I saw this gorgeous cover, I've been desperate for this to come out!

A Beautiful DarkA Beautiful Dark
By: Jocelyn Davies
Published: 27th September 2011
Published By: HarperCollins
Found: Umm.. Amazon?

Synopsis From Goodreads:
Skye never questioned the story of her life. Her Aunt Jo adopted her after the death of her parents when she was just a child, and together they flip through memories the way some people flip through photo albums.
She never questioned if the stories were true.
Until the night of her 17th birthday, when the arrival of two strangers intrudes on her cozy life. Polar opposites, like fire and ice, Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair, cold, and aloof. Skye has no idea what they want—only that their presence coincides with the beginning of some shockingly strange events. Events that Skye, if she dares to think it, might be responsible for causing.
High up in the mountains of Boulder, Colorado, Skye finds herself caught in the middle of an ancient battle, one that began untold millennia ago. Torn between unpredictable Asher, whom she loves, and the infuriating Devin, who she can’t stay away from, her fate is murky as a starless night. And as the secrets of her true identity are revealed, Skye realizes that her destiny may reside in the Heavens—or somewhere darker.
Ok, I desperately want to read to read this!  Just look at the cover... It's really, really pretty.  I'm just enchanted by the synopsis... It sounds so amazing!  If I don't move on, I swear I'm going to start bouncing all over again.  Too late.  *bounces*  I'm just that excited!

So many goods ones on that list! I'm dying for The Pledge and Bloodlines, they both look so amazing! After Obsession is on my list too, I can't wait for September!

Oh my goodness I badly want to read all the books you've mentioned! Which means my TBR list is going to expand quite a bit, oopsies :X

The Drake boys just make me swoon with every book! I especially adore Nicolas and Lucy together, their coupling is my favorite though they don't get a whole book to themselves (yet!)

Now I'm probably going to have trouble sleeping haha, all I can think about is Nicolas :P

Jenny: Ah, too many good books! No, I'm countin' down the days!
Felicia: Oops! I think that's just the minor hazard of blogging. ;) Oh, and I am in love with those boys! Aren't Nicolas and Lucy just the sweetest? I loved it when she locked him in the closet! :D Aw, well, there are worse things! ;)
Thanks for the comments all!
